Transitioning from Spring to Summer – OOTD

Hey guys! It has finally arrived, after all these cold months of layering, boots, toques, and mittens, Summer is here. Now I’m not sure about all of you, but once It started getting warm I realized how little of a summer wardrobe I had kept from last year. So since I can’t afford to buy a whole new Summer wardrobe, I needed to find ways to incorporate some of my fall/spring items into my Summer outfits.

With this outfit I purchased a new loose fitting t-shirt dress from Aritzia (brand: Wilfred Free, xs) for only $85. Which I thought was a pretty good deal considering the quality of the fabric, and the store I was purchasing it from.

There are so many ways to wear this dress, but since I love my Jeffrey Campbell booties so much, I wanted to find a way to wear them into the warmer months. Especially since they are not meant to wear with socks. So to give the outfit a bit of an edge I wore the boots, then through on my Mackage to complete the look.

HELLO Spring

Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone’s April is going well so far! It’s been waaaay too long since I’ve posted, with finals and the school year coming to a close I have been crazy busy. But I did however find time this weekend to take a quick day trip this weekend to Canmore with my sister.

Top: I am wearing a plain black camisole, just something light and plain. My Jacket is the Kenya jacket from the Mackage brand. This jacket will stretch out almost an entire size as it is real leather, so just be careful when purchasing 🙂

Botton: I am wearing a light washed distressed Jean from Rag & Bone.

Shoes:I am wearing the Vitulli style bootie from the brand Hibou in the beige colour. They are leather boots, with a rubber sole.

Accessories: My sunglasses are an Aviator style from Free People. And as always I have on my Daniel Wellington black classic style watch.

PS follow me on Instagram @megjobennett, I usually post outfits n’ such on there that don’t make it onto my blog 🙂

Winter Layering – OOTD

** More pictures below **

Almost all of the snow has melted, and spring is right around the corner. So before it gets too warm I decided I needed to squeeze in a couple more layered outfits. 🙂

Top: [size: s] The plaid I am wearing is from the brand TNA. It is a light flannel so it’s perfect for layering. The sweater I’m wearing over top is the Talula cashmere sweater, with blue elbow patches. Both pieces were found at Aritzia.

Bottom: [size: xs] I am wearing the Wilfred Daria leggings from Aritzia. They are unbelievably comfortable, but they will stretch out so I would recommend buying the tightest size you can fit into.

Jacket: [size: 4] I am wearing the black chiffon coat from Top Shop’s petite collection. This coat is ideal for dressing up any outfit.

Shoes: My shoes are Steve Madden’s Roxberry bootie. They are black leather with a small heel, so they are super comfy while still being dressy. The pointed toe is what I initially really loved about this shoe.

Accessories: I felt like my outfit had enough going on that I didn’t need to accessorize, but I did wear my Daniel Wellington watch as per usual :).

OOTD: Walk In The Park

This has been quite a mild and tame winter, so we have been trying to get outside as much as possible. Taking walks in the chilly air with a warm cup of coffee is one of my favourite things to do in the fall/winter. This walk was spur of the moment, so I wouldn’t say this outfit is perfect for any long/intense walk, but for our casual walk it was perfect.

Top: My top is the long sleeved heather grey sweater from Brandy Melville. I love this sweater because it isn’t too heavy, so if you wear it under a coat you won’t over heat. Brandy Melville is one size fits all, so I usually find that their clothing fits a bit tight and awkward as it is meant for a younger demographic. But their sweaters are usually quite comfy and a bit looser.

Dress: My dress is the Wilfred Free Mabel dress, in the size medium. These fit super tight so to be more comfortable I went a size up. It is super versatile, and is perfect for layering.

Coat: My coat is the camel coloured, Babaton Pearce Wool Coat, in a size small. I absolutely adore this coat and wear it all the time. It is so warm and cozy. Its perfect to dress things up, or to just mix it up from your everyday Parka.

Shoes: I am wearing a pair of Steve Madden knee high boots. I bought these a couple years ago and couldn’t find the exact name of the boot. But i do know that Steve Madden is always carrying similar styles. These boots are perfect for so many different things and they basically never leave my side haha. They are also not too tight in the calf area so they are super comfy.

Accessories: I put on a pair of knee length socks from Brandy Melville to peak over the boot. And for jewellery I only have on a turquoise Brandy Melville bullet necklace, and my Daniel Wellington watch.

Beautiful Canmore Trip!

Me and my twin sister Kelsey took a road trip to the town of Canmore, Alberta. Canmore is about an hour away from where we live so we love going up there as much as possible. Canmore is in the mountains and it’s so gorgeous we had to take some photos!

Top: My top is the Wilfred Chimere Camisole, in the colour Hush/Black, in size xs. I adore this top because of the lace on the bottom. It fits similar to a crop top as the Hush colour ends a bit lower than the belly button, but it is more comfortable than a crop top because the lace covers you up. This is a cute piece for day to day activities, a night out to dinner, or the club.

Bottom: My jeans are the Rag & Bone Heritage jean. These are a bit loose on me at a size 25, but they are my comfy jeans and are so comfortable it doesn’t even feel like I’m are wearing jeans. Keep in mind these will stretch out a tad after you wear them, so when you are purchasing go with the size thats a touch more snug, but not digging into your hips/waist. And I of course cuffed the bottoms like usual haha.

Scarf: The main piece in this Outfit is the oversized scarf. This is the Wilfred Mixed Stripes Blanket Scarf in the colour Wind. This scarf is quite large, but there are so many ways to wear it that it can be worn with almost anything. I am wearing it as a shall in place of a cardigan. I like to do this when I know it’s warm and I won’t need a jacket.

Shoes: I am wearing the Dolce Vita Jax booties. I love these boots because of the wooden heel. The heel is thicker so they are super comfortable to wear and I can be in them for 8 hours and not be in pain by the end of the day.

Exploring Nanaimo Canada

A couple weeks ago me, my dad, and my sister took a trip to Nanaimo, British Columbia. Nanaimo is a gorgeous small town on Vancouver island. Being near the ocean is one of my favourite things, so any chance I get I have to go visit.

It was January and still pretty chilly, so I put this outfit together with keeping warm in mind!

Top: For my top I am wearing, from Aritzia, a Wilfred long sleeved, v-neck, shirt in xxs. It’s in the colour heather grey, with cream border at the neck. This is one of my favourite shirts to throw on because its so comfortable, but isn’t too plain. Its perfect under my leather jacket as well.

Bottom: For my pants I am wearing the Free People high-rise black jean. These jeans have spandex in them so they are really comfortable, but will stretch out. I am wearing size 25, but if I knew how much they would stretch out I probably would have gone with a 24. You have to be really careful not to put these jeans in the dryer, as the spandex would snap and your jeans would be waay too lose. And as per usual I cuffed the bottom of the jeans just to style the look a touch more.

Coat: This coat is the Community Paradigm Parka, that I picked up at Aritzia. I had to save up for a couple months for this coat, but it was so worth it. I wore this parka almost every single day during the cold Canadian winter haha. It is longer so it not only keeps my arms and core warm, but my entire body. The faux fur hood is quite fluffy and large, but thats what makes the parka to me stand out and be more than just a coat.

Shoes: I am wearing small suede booties that I picked up at Urban Outfitters about 2 years ago. This exact style isn’t sold there anymore, but any bootie would have worked for this look! Even a pair of chucks or New Balance runners would have worked perfectly.

Casual Outfit of the Day

Hello I’m Megan!

I have always wanted to start a blog where I can share my passion for shopping and styling. I’m constantly on tumblr, so I thought why not take this one step further and start my own personal style blog! One of my favourite things to look at on other blogs is their “outfit of the days”, because I love seeing what other woman wear on a day to day basis.

IMG_7583

This is a very easy outfit, and almost everyone has similar pieces in their closet! I would usually wear something like this to class, running errands, or just having a comfy day.

Top: I’m wearing a pullover cashmere sweater from the brand Babaton, found at the store Aritzia. This sweater is over sized, but is cut shorter at the bottom so it doesn’t completely cover you up. This sweater is so versatile, you can put on a leather skirt and tights to dress it up, or you could even stick a plaid underneath a wear it super casual.

Bottoms: The jeans I’m wearing are BDG brand from Urban Outfitters, and they are just your typical boyfriend fit. This pair is distressed with a couple holes, but the holes are small enough that you won’t get too chilly on a snowy day. Cuffing boyfriend jeans is the easiest way to add some style to any outfit.

Shoes: I am wearing the Vitulli style bootie from the brand Hibou in the beige colour. They are leather boots, with a rubber sole. These are definitely my most worn shoes of the fall/winter. I find that these boots literally go with everything, and they are so comfortable. They are perfect to throw on in the morning and feel styled.

Accessories: I chose to wear an oversized flappy black hat to give this outfit a little somethin somethin! This hat was super affordable at Top Shop, but you can find similar styles almost anywhere these days. A simple watch is the perfect way to complete the look. My watch is the Classic Ladies style watch from the brand Daniel Wellington, with the black leather strap, and rose gold details.
